In his own words, Dave Portnoy, has himself taken an oath that he would never buy Bitcoin again. However, the stock trader has not only gone against his oath and instead dumped all his Dogecoins to get one Bitcoin for him.
Dave Portnoy may be a stock trader but is widely known by the title “paper hands” amongst crypto community members. He is also associated with the famous blog namely “Barstool Stool” which was founded by himself alone.
Portnoy has issued a video message on Twitter in which he has informed his fans that he has bought a whole Bitcoin. He revealed further that he bought the Bitcoin when Bitcoin was facing a dip. He told that it cost only US$ 48,000, which he paid by dumping all of his Dogecoins. At the end of his video message, he stated that he is once again proud to be a Bitcoiner.
There was a time when Portnoy had made a public statement in which he had suggested that Bitcoin is not for him. He continued stating that he would never ever intend to buy Bitcoin again. Although he was heavily criticized, Portnoy said that he had made a vow with himself and would like to keep it. However, the revelation he has made in his video message clearly shows that he has retracted from his earlier statement. In fact, he told specifically that for getting his hands on one Bitcoin he had to sell all of his Dogecoins.
Yet once again, Portnoy has been surrounded by criticism. People are suggesting that he is a man who cannot keep his words and in a habit of retracting from his statements. Only a quite few were there, who appreciated him and welcomed him for becoming a Bitcoiner. However, a large majority of people were those who continued to criticize Portnoy.
In another tweet post, Portnoy suggested that he was shocked to learn that Tesla has had to sell its Bitcoins. He commented that he would never again sell his Bitcoin and asked people to call him by a self-acclaimed title “Barron of Bitcoin”. He also stated that he is joyful to see that his Bitcoin value has been surging a lot. He added that since his Bitcoin purchase, the value of Bitcoin has increased to approximately US$ 9,000.
Regarding his small not very healthy chitchat with the Technoking of Tesla, he suggested that it was not a fight at all. He remarked that he is an ambassador for Bitcoin and being an ambassador, it is his duty to defend threats towards Bitcoin.
In the recent past on Doge Day, Portnoy was seen telling his Twitter followers that he had bought US$ 25,000 of Dogecoins. Now he is claiming that he has sold all of his Dogecoin holding for acquiring a single Bitcoin.
