There has been a massive number of cryptocurrency ATMs (automated teller machines) installed in the last 12 months. Data indicates that more than 20,000 ATMs had been installed in the previous year. Machines have continued to be installed in great number this year as well, as the trend continues. According to statistics, there have been 2,759 machines that have been added to the total list since December 30th, which means there are 36,659 crypto ATMs that exist globally. This data was disclosed by the crypto ATM tracker known as coinatmradar.com. These ATMs are spread across a total of 76 countries.
Over the years, there has been a significant number of growth seen in crypto ATMs and the largest annual increase was recorded in the previous year with the addition of more than 20,000 machines. There had been 33,900 crypto ATMs on December 30th, 2021 and this means that the last 93 days have seen this number go up by 2,759. This makes it an increase of about 8.13% and the total number of machines are currently being managed by a total of 612 operators. These operators include names like Bitcoin of America, Coinflip, Coin Cloud and Bitcoin Depot. Furthermore, there are also about 43 crypto ATM manufacturers and these include names like Coinsource, General Bytes, Bitstop, Bitaccess, Genesiscoin and more.
Bitcoin Depot is the top operator with the highest number of crypto ATMs that have been installed globally, which is around 7,001. The second-largest operator is Coin Cloud, which has about 5,198 crypto ATMs installed worldwide. Hence, Bitcoin’s Depot’s share of the total number of crypto ATMs stands at 19.1%, while Coin Cloud’s share is around 14.2%. Coinatmradar.com also displays a map highlighting the locations where the crypto ATMs are installed and the type of crypto asset that are supported by each.
For instance, the crypto ATMs support cryptocurrencies such as bitcoin, litecoin, ethereum, xrp, tether, dogecoin, zcash, bitcoin cash, monero and dash. The tracker site also indicates that most of the crypto ATMs can be found in the United States, as there are a total number of 32,623 of them that exist in the country. The second largest number of crypto ATMs can be found in Canada and the total number of ATMs is around 2,439. After these two countries comes Spain, which has 225 ATMs, then El Salvador with a total of 204 ATMs, Poland with 180 ATMs and Switzerland with 147 ATMs.
When it comes to installation of crypto ATMs by the manufacturer, the largest share of crypto ATMs installed in the world goes to Genesiscoin, which is around 41.6%. The second leading manufacturer to have installed crypto ATMs globally is General Bytes and this gives it a global share of 21.4%. The two companies are followed by Bitaccess, which has a 15.2% share, Coinsource, which has a 5.3% share, Bitstop, which commands a share of 4.6%, and Bytefederalthat contributes 3.7% and the remaining 8.2% is commanded by a number of other manufacturers.
