Nov 6, 2021

Besides the impressive applications of blockchain, gaming companies are relying on technology to use crypto solutions. Nowadays, you’ll find plenty of play-to-earn gaming platforms meant to appeal to gamers and crypto enthusiasts alike. However, it looks like gaming industry giants like Twitch are planning to make things official. That’s because they signed a deal with Crypto.com, making the platform its global crypto partner.

Twitch Rivals, the streaming platform’s competitive eSports arm, is partnering with Crypto.com. Both the platforms signed a multi-year deal as part of an ongoing development. The upcoming change is meant to integrate the expansion of the crypto industry with the popular eSports sphere.

With this partnership, Crypto.com will officially be Twitch Rivals’ first ever Crypto Platform partner. This is a big move for the popular crypto platform, which is still aiming to gain legitimacy among non-crypto fans. This way, Crypto.com is established as one of Twitch Rivals’ official marketing partners. This will give the platform various exclusive rights, as well as the ability to show branded segments in-stream. They will also get to have media placement at Twitch events.

As the official crypto platform for the streaming service’s eSports branch, Crypto.com will use its logo and branding to gain traction. That means the visibility of Crypto.com branding material through the 250 different Twitch Rivals broadcasts each year. But the most impressive thing is that Twitch Rivals is broadcast in different parts of the world. This also includes the Asia-pacific region where the partnership began.

This is good news for crypto enthusiasts looking to gain some more credibility in the mainstream. Gaming fans and crypto traders will get to see the partnership being announced in an upcoming event. This will be held on November 4, 2021, and is called the Ultimate Challenge event by Twitch Rivals. Viewers can watch the event live, which will take place in Las Vegas.

For context, Twitch is the biggest streaming platform for eSports. It’s where professional gamers can stream their gaming sessions. Their viewers can tune in to watch them and engage with them.

Twitch Rivals, on the other hand, is an eSports Tournament series that twitch.tv is hosting. Twitch.tv is among the biggest eSports streaming services and it attracts an audience of a whopping 140 million visitors each month.

The CEO and co-founder of Crypto.com, Kris Marszalek, is excited about this latest eSports and crypto crossover. He said he’s eager to see what can come out of adding Twitch Rivals to the Crypto.com portfolio. He explained that gaming and crypto just naturally lean into each other. Then, he elaborated that considering how the world has a billion gamers, eSports fans are digital natives. For them, embracing crypto is inevitable.
